On April 27, 2016 The Arnold House and Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Indian Head opened its doors to Southern Maryland’s newest soup kitchen “Ladels of Love”. The soup kitchen give the Arnold House the chance to expand its mission of providing meals to the hungry while giving Metropolitan United Methodist Church the opportunity to truly serve a community in need.
During the opening night 75 meals were provided with approximately 30 guests being served in the church and the remaining meals were delivered to the sick, elderly shut-ins, and to those without transportation to get to the church.
Currently Ladles of Love feeds between 90-12o guests every Wednesday from 5-7pm. Meals will be served in the dining hall of Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church RD Indian Head, MD 20640.
Volunteers are needed to prepare meals, assist in serving , and to setup and breakdown the dining area.
